Program features LTG Jim Pasquarette, USA (ret), former G-8 of the United States Army. Colonel Leo Mercado, USMC (ret) will be installing our new officers voted on during the November 2021 business meeting.
LTG Pasquarett was commissioned as an Armor Officer from Furman University in 1983. In his 38 year career, he has commanded a company battalion and brigade level, has served As Executive Officer to the Chief of Staff of the Army, Deputy Commanding General of the 4th Infantry Division (Iron Horse) both at Fort Carson and Iraq. From July 2015 to 2018, he was Command-ing General of the US Army Japan. From 2018 until retirement he was the G-8 of the U.S. Army respon-sible for matching available resources to the United State defense strategy.
LTG Pasquarett is a Florida native and now living in Pinehurst, NC. His mother resides in Wilmington.
LTG Pasquarette is an excellent speaker and you will find his presentation to be very informative and enlightening.

There's Still Time to Register for the 24th Annual Women Veterans Luncheon. The 24th Annual Women Veterans Luncheon on November 12, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. via Zoom live from England! Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Jane Brooks, PhD, RN.
Dr. Brooks is a senior lecturer in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Manchester. She was the 2015 recipient of the American Association for the History of Nursing Mary M. Roberts Award for the edited book, "One Hundred Years of Wartime Nursing Practices."
Her book, "Negotiating Nursing: British Army Sisters and Soldiers in the Second World War" uses personal testimony to uncover nurses’ own understandings of their work and place in the medical team. Her current project examines Jewish refugees who entered the nursing profession in Britain and provided valuable war work in the over-stretched hospitals during the Second World War and into the new National Health Service.

At the Basketball game, we will provide U.S. Flags to all patrons, hold a giant U.S. Flag on the basketball court, and will celebrate and honor all World War II Veterans.

Southeast N.C. Veterans Day Parade coming Nov 6 to downtown Wilmington
The Southeast North Carolina Veterans Day Parade will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, in downtown Wilmington. The parade will begin at Third and Hanover streets and ends at Third and Market.
MOAA is in position number 79 in the lineup. Please arrive at 2nd and Front St between 1000 and 1015 and you will be directed from there.

Inaugural Veterans Day Boat Parade to set sail Nov 5 at Wrightsville Beach
The inaugural Veterans Day Boat Parade sets sail at noon on November 5 inside Masonboro Inlet near the U.S. Coast Guard station on the south end of Wrightsville Beach. Boaters are invited to join the inaugural Veterans Day Boat Parade at Wrightsville Beach.
