SENCLAND Chapter members were among the eighty MOAA members and guests from North Carolina and other states who went on a five-day Veteran’s Day Cruise, November 11-16, 2023, aboard the Carnival Cruise Line's “Sunshine of the Seas” from Charleston, SC to the Bahamas. A special feature of the Veterans Cruise was a four-part lecture series on major Pacific campaigns in WW II. Social times were the order of the day and night, spending time with friends from the NC Chapters, making new friends during excursions, meals, casual visits around the ship decks, and Veterans Appreciation events scheduled by the ship's cruise director. Join in commemorating the 247th Anniversary of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge.
A wreath-laying ceremony will commence at 10:00 AM on 25 Feb 2023 near the Visitor's Center.
Afterward, you may tour the battlefield encampments, watch historic weapons demonstrations, and roam the artisan trades area. There are interpretive demonstrations of the battle held daily— these are not reenactments, but they show the Patriot perspective of the battle unfolding. After you’re finished exploring the battlefield, be sure to come back by the Visitor Center to check out the exhibits and see the park film. This event is FREE!
